Why it exists

Maintenance Beyond Your Installation Protection

Eligible new Coastal Energy solar and battery installations include a 30 year Solar Insure parts and labor protection plan. The Coastal Care Plan serves a different purpose, adding ongoing maintenance, performance checks, annual inspections and discounted service that are not the same as a covered Solar Insure claim.

The plan is open to any Florida solar owner, not just Coastal Energy customers, within 30 miles of our Fort Myers, Naples or Miami offices. If another company installed your system, you complete a one-time Orphan Program evaluation first, then enroll in the Care Plan that fits your setup. Every visit is performed by our own Florida licensed roofing, electrical and HVAC crews, not a subcontractor.

If you need a one-off visit instead of a membership, the standard diagnostic call is $350 for single story homes. That covers the truck roll, travel within 30 miles of the closest office, a visual inspection, basic troubleshooting and the first 30 minutes on site. Submit a request and we will confirm whether your address qualifies.

Panel Cleaning and Fastest Response, VIP Tier

VIP members get panel cleaning included and move to the front of the queue for the fastest response time we offer.

Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does the Coastal Care Plan cost?

$400 a year for solar only, $700 a year for solar plus battery, or $1,400 a year for the VIP tier, which includes 8 hours of service labor annually.

What discount do members get on service calls?

50% off the standard $220 hourly labor rate after the diagnostic visit. VIP members get 8 hours of labor included each year before that discount even applies, plus panel cleaning included.

Do I still need the plan if I have Solar Insure protection?

Solar Insure provides parts and labor protection for covered failures on eligible new installations. The Care Plan is separate and covers ongoing monitoring, annual inspections, cleaning options and discounted or included service.

What does the $350 diagnostic call include?

For single story homes, $350 covers the truck roll, travel within 30 miles of the closest office, a visual inspection, basic troubleshooting and the first 30 minutes on site.

Can I get priority service before a hurricane?

Yes. All Care Plan tiers include priority scheduling, and VIP members get priority post-storm inspection scheduling on top of that.

Is the Coastal Care Plan open to systems Coastal Energy didn't install?

Yes. Any Florida solar owner can join if the property is within 30 miles of our Fort Myers, Naples or Miami offices. If another company installed your system, you first complete a one-time Orphan Program evaluation ($500 solar only, $750 with batteries).

Does the Care Plan cover equipment replacement?

No. It covers labor discounts, annual inspections and up to $100 in consumables per visit. Equipment like inverters, batteries, modules and gateways is quoted and billed separately.

How much does panel cleaning cost?

$30 to $40 per panel outside the VIP tier, more for two story or hard to access roofs. VIP members get panel cleaning included in the $1,400 a year membership.

What is the difference between the Care Plan and the Orphan Program?

The Orphan Program is a one-time flat fee evaluation for systems installed by other companies. The Coastal Care Plan is the ongoing annual membership you enroll in afterward.

How do I know if my home qualifies for the Coastal Care Plan?

Coastal Care Plan visits are available within a 30 mile radius of our Fort Myers, Naples or Miami offices. Submit a request with your address and we will confirm whether you qualify before scheduling.
