What Does Our Solar Workmanship Warranty Cover?
Coastal Energy warrants that the installation of your products is free from defects in workmanship and leaks for five years from the date of system activation. The warranty applies to the original purchaser named in the Installation Agreement and is fully transferable. Products remain covered by their own manufacturer warranties.

Scope of the Workmanship Warranty
Coastal Energy warrants that the installation of the products shall be free from defects in workmanship and leaks for a period of five (5) years from the date of system activation. Our solar workmanship warranty covers the work our crews perform: racking and mounting, roof penetrations and flashing, conduit runs, wiring, terminations, panel and battery mounting, and the commissioning of the system.
Leaks are named in the warranty on purpose. On a Florida roof, the attachment points are where a solar installation either holds up or does not, so if water finds its way in at a penetration we made, that is ours to fix. We hold Florida roofing license CCC1335978, electrical license EC13013993 and HVAC license CAC1816094, and the same in-house crews that install the system handle the repair.

Who Receives the Benefit of This Warranty
The warranty applies to the original purchaser named in the equipment Installation Agreement and is fully transferable.
The Original Purchaser
Coverage belongs to the purchaser named in the equipment Installation Agreement, starting on the date your system is activated.
Fully Transferable
If you sell the home, this transferable solar warranty moves with it. The remaining coverage transfers to the new owner with no transfer fee and no re-enrollment step.
Manufacturer Warranties Stay Separate
The products themselves are covered under separate manufacturer warranties. Tesla Powerwall, for example, carries its own 10 year equipment warranty, and most panels carry 25 year product and performance terms.
You Get the Paperwork
Coastal Energy provides copies of the applicable manufacturer warranties after the completion of your project, so every document lives in one place.
What we do
When the Warranty Applies, We Make It Right
When the workmanship warranty applies, Coastal Energy will, at its discretion and cost, either re-do or repair the installation, or replace any faulty part with a comparable new or refurbished part so that the installation is no longer defective.
There is no deductible and no labor charge for covered workmanship repairs. Our service division coordinates the visit, and if the root cause turns out to be an equipment failure instead of our workmanship, we help open and manage the manufacturer claim on your behalf.
Limitations
Limitations and Exclusions
To the extent permitted by law, claims are excluded from the workmanship warranty where the defect or loss is or has been caused or contributed by the following.
Accidental Damage and Wear
Accidental damage, plus general wear and tear over the life of the system.
Misuse or Manufacturer Instructions
Misuse of the equipment, or failure to comply with the manufacturer's instructions.
Work by Others
Removal by any party other than Coastal Energy staff, unauthorized repairs, improper care or alterations.
Power and Connectivity Events
Loss of electrical power, electrical surges or lightning, and loss or disconnection of internet service.
Acts of God
Storm, flood, wind and similar events, which typically fall to your homeowners insurance rather than a workmanship warranty.

Product warranties
Your Equipment Has Its Own Coverage
The products themselves are covered under separate manufacturer warranties. Please refer to the specific manufacturer's warranty terms for details on panels, inverters, batteries, roofing material and HVAC equipment. Coastal Energy provides our customers with copies of these warranties after the completion of your project.
Keeping the two layers distinct is deliberate. Our 5 year workmanship and leak warranty answers for how the system was installed. The manufacturer answers for the hardware itself, on its own term and its own conditions. When something goes wrong, we help you work out which is which.
Ongoing care
Maintenance and Service Are Separate
The Coastal Care Plan provides monitoring, warranty claim assistance, priority scheduling, discounted repair labor and panel cleaning. It is a separate subscription, not a requirement for your workmanship coverage, and your warranty stands whether or not you enroll.
Repair work on systems Coastal Energy did not install follows a quoted service scope rather than this warranty. If you inherited a system from a company that is no longer around, start with a Solar System Evaluation so we know exactly what you own.
