What we install

Metal Roof Installation and Tile Roofing, No Shingles

Our metal roof installation and tile roofing systems are the only two we sell. We do not install or replace shingle roofs. In Florida's heat, wind and salt air, metal and tile hold up far longer, and they are the systems we are willing to warranty and mount solar to.

Metal is the most common choice for roof replacement Florida projects. Standing seam and 5V crimp panels handle high wind uplift, shed water fast in heavy summer rain, and let us attach solar with clamps rather than penetrations. Tile is the right call when an HOA or existing architecture requires it, and it is quoted per project because profile, underlayment and access vary widely.

Why us

Roofing and Electrical Under One Company

In-House Crews

Our roofing and electrical work is performed by Coastal Energy employees, not brokered out to a subcontractor we cannot schedule.

Licensed Both Ways

Roofing license CCC1335978 and electrical license EC13013993, so a re-roof plus solar plus a Powerwall is one contract and one schedule.

Solar-Ready Detailing

We plan panel layout, conduit runs and attachment points before the panels go down, which avoids re-work and unnecessary roof penetrations.

Florida Since 2019

Working coastal Florida roofs, permitting and wind-load requirements across Lee, Collier, Miami-Dade and Monroe counties.

GAF Certified Twice Over

We are a GAF Certified Roofing Contractor and a GAF Energy Solar Certified Contractor, so our crews are trained and vetted on both GAF roofing systems and GAF Energy.

Process

How a Coastal Energy Re-Roof Runs

  1. 01

    On-Site Measure

We measure the roof, check decking condition, penetrations and existing solar, and confirm the material that fits the home and any HOA rules.

  2. 02

    Proposal and Permit

You get a fixed installed price. We pull the county or city permit and handle wind-load documentation.

  3. 03

    Tear-off and Dry In

Old material comes off, decking is repaired where needed, and the roof is dried in with underlayment the same day it is opened.

  4. 04

    Metals and Panels

Perimeter metals, then panels or tile go on. Solar attachment points are set during this stage if solar is part of the project.

  5. 05

    Inspection and Close Out

Final county inspection, site cleanup, and your 5 year workmanship warranty documentation.

Roof and solar timing

Re-Roof First, Then Solar

If your roof has less than about 10 years of life left, replace it before adding solar. Removing and reinstalling an array later is a real cost with no added production, and it puts extra penetrations in a roof you are about to replace anyway.

When both are done together, we design the array around the finished roof, mount to standing seam clamps where possible, and land the electrical work with our own licensed electricians. One company, one permit set, one schedule.

License verification

Florida Certified Roofing Contractor

Coastal Energy performs roofing work under Florida certified roofing contractor license CCC1335978, issued to Eric V. Perez and valid through August 31, 2028. The license covers certified roofing work statewide and is held in-house, not subcontracted.

Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

How Much Does a New Roof Cost in Florida?

Roof replacement cost Florida homeowners see depends on material, pitch, access and how many layers come off. Our pricing is quoted per square foot and the exact figure is set after we measure the roof.

What Is the Best Roofing Material for Hurricanes?

Standing seam metal is our default recommendation because the fastener line sits hidden under the seam. In a metal roof vs shingle roof Florida comparison metal also wins on lifespan, and we install metal and tile only, never shingle.

Do You Handle Roof Repair Near Me?

We do. Roof repair near me requests, hurricane roof damage repair and leak diagnostics are handled by the same crews working under roofing license CCC1335978.

Do you install shingle roofs?

No. We install metal and tile roofing only. In Florida's heat, wind and salt air we only stand behind metal and tile, and those are the systems we mount solar to.

How long does a re-roof take?

Most projects run 5 to 15 days depending on roof size, complexity and weather. The roof is dried in the same day it is opened up.

Should I replace my roof before installing solar?

If the roof has less than roughly 10 years of life left, yes. Removing and reinstalling an array later costs money and adds no production.

Are you licensed for roofing and electrical?

Yes. Coastal Energy holds Florida roofing license CCC1335978 and electrical license EC13013993, and both trades are performed by our own crews.

Are there tax credits for a new roof?

Federal residential tax credits have expired. Commercial projects may still qualify for the ITC and depreciation, and we can connect you with Solar ITC to review your situation.

How Long Does a Roof Last in Florida?

A standing seam metal roof commonly lasts 40 to 50 years here and concrete tile can last longer with upkeep. Salt air, UV and storm exposure shorten that, which is why coastal jobs get corrosion resistant fasteners.

Is There a Roofing Company Near Me on the Florida Coast?

Yes. Coastal Energy is a solar roofing company with offices in Fort Myers, Naples and Miami, so a roofing company near me search in Southwest or Southeast Florida reaches our own licensed crews. Being a solar and roofing company Florida owners can use for both trades keeps one warranty holder on the roof.

What Is a Solar-Ready Roof Installation?

A solar-ready roof installation sets flashing, attachment points and penetration locations during the reroof so panels can go on later without disturbing new material. Standing seam metal roof solar mounting uses seam clamps and needs no penetrations at all.

How much does a metal roof cost in Florida?

Metal roofing starts at $12 per square foot installed, with a $1.50 per square foot upcharge for a Kynar finish. A typical single family Florida home lands between $24,000 and $27,000. Your exact quote is confirmed after an on-site measurement.

What warranty comes with the roof?

Roofing work carries a separate 5 year Coastal Energy workmanship warranty, in addition to the manufacturer material warranty on the panels or tile. Solar Insure protection is for eligible solar and battery installations and does not replace the roofing warranty.

Is Coastal Energy GAF certified?

Yes. We hold two GAF credentials: GAF Certified Roofing Contractor and GAF Energy Solar Certified Contractor. Both mean GAF has vetted our licensing, insurance and installation standards. We still install metal and tile roofing systems only.

Do you install tile roofs?

Yes. Tile is quoted per project because profile, underlayment, access and structural considerations vary significantly between homes.
