Why This Matters

Your Solar Panels May Last 30 Years. Will Your Warranty?

Manufacturer warranties often cover the equipment itself. They do not always cover what it takes to find the problem and put it right. Homeowners can still run into labor, service, diagnostic and truck roll expenses when a system fails, and those costs tend to arrive years after the install, when the original paperwork is long forgotten.

Long Term Security

A 30 Year Warranty Should Still Matter 20 Years From Now.

Solar is a long term investment. Companies and manufacturers can change over time. Coastal Protect 30 is powered by Solar Insure, providing an additional layer of warranty protection beyond relying solely on the original equipment manufacturer or installer.

Manufacturer Default Protection

Manufacturer default protection is backed by an A.M. Best A+ rated insurance carrier, subject to applicable warranty terms.

If Your Installer Is Gone

If the original installer is no longer available, homeowners with properly enrolled coverage can contact Solar Insure for assistance.

Selling Your Home?

Your Protection Stays With the Home.

Coastal Protect 30 coverage is assigned to the property and can transfer to a subsequent homeowner at no additional transfer cost, subject to Solar Insure's terms.

For a solar equipped Florida home, that can be a real talking point at the closing table. Instead of a buyer wondering who services the system and what happens if something fails, you can hand over documented long term coverage that carries on with the house.

Why Coastal Energy

More Than a Solar Installer.

Coastal Energy brings critical home energy systems together under one roof. If your solar system needs attention, you aren't searching for a random service contractor. You have a Florida energy company capable of supporting the systems surrounding your solar investment.

Our solar, roofing and electrical work is performed in house by our own licensed teams, so a roof penetration, a panel replacement and an electrical repair all stay with one company that already knows your system.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Does Coastal Protect 30 Cover?

Coastal Protect 30 uses qualifying Solar Insure SI-30 warranty products to provide long term coverage for qualifying solar and battery equipment, including covered parts and labor. Depending on the option you choose, that can include solar panels, inverters, optimizers, racking and mounting hardware, battery components and integrated battery and inverter components. Coverage is subject to warranty terms, conditions, eligibility requirements and exclusions.

Does It Replace the Manufacturer's Warranty?

No. Your manufacturer warranties stay in place. Coastal Protect 30 sits alongside them and is designed to address the gaps homeowners run into, such as labor, diagnostics and service costs, and to extend protection beyond the manufacturer term for qualifying equipment on the Solar Insure Approved Vendor List.

Can the Warranty Transfer if I Sell My Home?

Yes. Coastal Protect 30 coverage is assigned to the property and can transfer to a subsequent homeowner at no additional transfer cost, subject to Solar Insure's terms.

What Happens if Coastal Energy Is No Longer Servicing My Area?

Your coverage follows the system, not the installer. If the original installer is no longer available, homeowners with properly enrolled coverage can contact Solar Insure for assistance with qualifying claims.

Can I Add Coastal Protect 30 to an Existing Solar System?

Generally no. SI-30 coverage must be enrolled by a Certified Provider in connection with the qualifying installation, so it cannot simply be added retroactively to a system that is already installed. If you already own solar, contact Coastal Energy and we will walk you through the protection and service options that are available to you, including a system evaluation and our Coastal Care membership.

Is Coastal Protect 30 Insurance?

No. Coastal Protect 30 is a warranty program, not an insurance policy, and Solar Insure is a warranty provider rather than an insurance company. Manufacturer default protection within the SI-30 warranty is backed by an A.M. Best A+ rated insurance carrier, subject to applicable warranty terms.

Is There a Deductible?

There is no deductible on covered claims, subject to warranty terms, conditions, eligibility requirements and exclusions.

What Happens if a Manufacturer Goes Out of Business?

Manufacturer default protection is part of the SI-30 warranty and is backed by an A.M. Best A+ rated insurance carrier, subject to applicable warranty terms. That means a covered failure does not depend solely on the original manufacturer still being in business.

Are Batteries Covered?

Yes, with Coastal Protect 30 Battery or Coastal Protect 30 Total. Battery coverage can include battery components, integrated battery and inverter components where applicable, parts and labor for covered failures, and one qualifying battery replacement after the manufacturer's warranty period if capacity falls below 50%. Coverage is subject to warranty terms, conditions, eligibility requirements and exclusions.
