What you get

What a Custom Proposal Actually Includes

A Coastal Energy proposal is a written document built specifically for your property, not a generic brochure. It starts with a production model based on your roof's orientation, shading, roof planes and your 12 month usage history, so the estimated kilowatt hour output reflects your actual home.

From there, it lays out a real cost range for the equipment and installation, financing options if you want them, and a realistic timeline from signed contract through permitting, installation and utility permission to operate.

You can request a proposal for solar panels alone, solar paired with a Tesla Powerwall or similar battery, a re-roof ahead of solar, or a combined system. Commercial properties can request a proposal built around demand charge reduction on our commercial solar page.

The four pieces

The Four Things Every Proposal Answers

No matter the system size, a Coastal Energy proposal answers these four questions in writing.

Production Model

Estimated annual kilowatt hour output for your specific roof, along with the offset percentage against your current usage.

Cost Range

A real installed cost range for the system size and equipment discussed. Federal residential tax credits have expired, so this is a straight installed-cost number, not a pre-credit and post-credit split.

Financing Options

Cash purchase, solar loan terms, or lease and power purchase style options where available, laid out with estimated monthly payments.

Timeline

A realistic schedule from signed contract through engineering, permitting, installation, inspection and utility interconnection.

Rough ranges to set expectations. Your proposal will have a specific number, not a range this wide.

Final numbers depend on roof condition, panel count, electrical upgrades and equipment selected. Your written proposal reflects your property, not this table.

Process

How to Get from a Request to a Signed Proposal

  1. 01

    Request Your Proposal

Send your address and a recent power bill. We start modeling production and pricing right away.

  2. 02

    Consultation Call

A design specialist reviews your usage and goals and confirms which system type to build the proposal around.

  3. 03

    Site Survey

A technician inspects your roof, attic framing, main panel and grounding to confirm the design is buildable as modeled.

  4. 04

    Delivery of Your Written Proposal

You receive the production model, firm cost range, financing options and timeline in writing to review at your own pace.

  5. 05

    Sign When Ready

There is no pressure to sign on the spot. Once you are ready, we schedule engineering and permitting.

Financing

How Financing Fits Into Your Proposal

Most homeowners pay cash or use a solar loan through Climate First Bank, our financing partner, at 7% to 8% APR with $0 down available. Your proposal will show what a monthly payment looks like alongside the cash price. Federal residential tax credits have expired; depreciation may be available depending on your tax situation, and we can connect you with Solar ITC to review it.

We do not lock you into a financing decision before the proposal is delivered. Our financing page walks through loan terms and incentives in more detail if you want to review the options before your call.

Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

What Does the Proposal Include?

You receive a solar production estimate written proposal with the equipment list, modeled annual output, pricing and warranty terms, so nothing is promised verbally.

Is there a cost to request a proposal?

No. Requesting a proposal, the consultation call and the site survey are all free with no obligation to sign a contract.

What if I want solar and a new roof at the same time?

We can build a proposal that sequences a re-roof ahead of the solar install, since our roofing division holds Florida license CCC1335978 and can handle both under one project.

Can a business request a proposal?

Yes. Commercial proposals are modeled around demand charge reduction and facility load. Visit our commercial solar page or mention your business on your proposal request.

How long does it take to get a proposal after I request one?

A modeled estimate can come back within a day or two. A full written proposal with firm pricing typically follows the site survey, usually within a week of your consultation call.

Does the proposal include financing options?

Yes. Your proposal shows cash pricing alongside available financing options, including estimated monthly payments where a loan or lease is being considered.

How accurate is the production model in the proposal?

It is based on your roof's actual orientation, shading and your 12 month usage history, confirmed by an in person site survey. It is meaningfully more accurate than a satellite only estimate.

Am I obligated to move forward once I receive a proposal?

No. A proposal is a document to review at your own pace. You decide if and when to sign.
